It is not only since the beginning of the Ukraine war that Germany has claimed leadership in the Baltic Sea. With Deu Marfor, the navy has an important element to achieve this goal. The announcement of the "turning point" on 27 February 2022 by Olaf Scholz in response to the Russian attack on Ukraine is of particular relevance to security policy in many respects.
