Lower Saxony: New major contracts awarded for offshore wind farm

Für das geplante Offshore-Windparkgebiet „Nordlicht“ vor der Nordseeinsel Borkum haben die Betreiber Vattenfall und BASF jetzt Verträge mit vier Unternehmen gezeichnet. Nach Angaben der beiden Unternehmen sind unter anderem herzustellende Stahl-Fundamente und zu installierende Kabel beauftragt worden. Baubeginn soll laut Vattenfall 2026 sein. Die Inbetriebnahme ist für 2028 vorgesehen. Der Windpark an zwei Standorten liefert mit „Nordlicht 1“ eine Leistung von rund 980 Megawatt und mit „Nordlicht 2“ etwa 630 Megawatt.
