Turn five into eight  

Boeing hat den Auftrag zum Bau von drei weiteren Poseidon erhalten. Die zukünftige Flotte der neuen Seefernaufklärer für die Deutsche Marine wächst damit auf acht Einheiten. Die deutsche Marine ersetzt ihre Seefernaufklärer P-3C Orion durch Flugzeuge vom Typ P-8A Poseidon. Wie der Hersteller Boeing am 29. Februar meldete, hat die US Navy nun im Rahmen des Foreign-Military-Sales-Programms drei weitere Maschinen zur Lieferung an die Bundeswehr in Auftrag gegeben. New management of FSG-Nobiskrug

Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft-Nobiskrug gets a new management team. Robert Fischer von Mollard becomes Managing Director of both companies; Michel Bollmann becomes Technical Director. Robert Fischer von Mollard was most recently Production Manager at Nobiskrug and Michel Bollmann held the same position at Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft. Berlin: Capability maintenance of the Brandenburg class approved

At its meeting on 15 May 2024, the Budget Committee of the German Bundestag released a total of 1.9 billion euros for four projects that affect the entire operational spectrum of the Bundeswehr. One project will maintain the operational availability of the Brandenburg class. Since their commissioning between 1994 and 1996, the four Class 123 frigates have primarily been used to hunt submarines. To this end, they can use both their bow sonar and two "Sea Lynx" on-board helicopters, which extend the submarine hunting range of the ships with their diving sonar and torpedoes.
