Der britische Lenkwaffenzerstörer HMS „Diamond“ (D34, Type 45) war ab Januar 2024 für mehrere Monate als Teil der US-geführten Operation Prosperity Guardian im Roten Meer stationiert. Das Schiff verschoss in einer Nacht mehrere Sea Viper-Raketen, um sieben Drohnen abzuwehren, die auf Handelsschiffe abgefeuert worden waren. In mid-June, the President of the USA designated the Commander of the U.S. Fleet Forces, Admiral Daryl Caudle, as the next Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) and proposed him for selection by the Senate Armed Services Committee, the American defence committee in the Capitol. Caudle is to replace Admiral James Kilby, who was appointed on an interim basis, six months after Admiral Lisa Franchetti, the first woman to occupy the post, was kicked out.
