Seit 140 Jahren leistet das Office of Naval Intelligence einen wichtigen Beitrag zum Informationsvorsprung für die US Navy. Mit klassischen Methoden und modernstem Material gewinnen heute mehrere Tausend Mitarbeiter das erforderliche Wissen. Der amerikanische Marinenachrichtendienst, das Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI), ist der älteste Auslandsgeheimdienst der Vereinigten Staaten. Der Auftragsschwerpunkt liegt in der Sammlung und Auswertung wissenschaftlicher, technologischer, geopolitischer und militärischer Informationen mit maritimem Stellenwert.
