Panama gets serious and withdraws the flag from sanctioned ships

Die panamaische Schifffahrtsbehörde (PMA) hat 107 Schiffe aus ihrem Register gestrichen, weil sie gegen internationale Sanktionen verstoßen haben. Bei weiteren 18 Schiffen ist die Streichung aus dem Register in Vorbereitung. Der jetzige Schritt ist Teil eines konsequenten Vorgehens Panamas gegen die Umgehung von Regeln und Sanktionen. Insbesondere nach der Umsetzung eines im vergangenen Oktober erlassenen Exekutivdekrets wurde die PMA ermächtigt, Schiffsregistrierungen sofort zu annullieren, wenn Schiffe oder ihre Eigner auf internationalen Sanktionslisten erscheinen.
