The Federal Real Estate Agency (BIMA) signed the purchase agreement for the acquisition of the MV Werft shipyard in Rostock on Friday. The Budget Committee of the German Bundestag had previously approved the 87 million euros required for this. As announced by the Federal Ministry of Defence, the go-ahead has now been given for the construction of an additional operating facility for the naval arsenal. Die Bundeswehr plant schon seit einigen Jahren einen Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) für mehrere Teilstreitkräfte zu beschaffen, mit dem insbesondere die Aus- und Weiterbildung von Piloten zwischen der Beendigung ihrer Hubschrauber-Grundausbildung und dem Einsatz auf ihrem Einsatzhelikopter wie dem NH90 oder dem Tiger erfolgen soll. Nach den ursprünglichen Vorstellungen sollten dabei die Teilstreitkräfte im Rahmen dieses Vorhabens „Leichter Mehrzweckhubschrauber Streitkräfte“ oder „LUH SK“ das gleiche Hubschraubermuster beschaffen. On Friday, 8 July 2022, the "Belgorod" (project 09852) was handed over to the Russian Navy.
