Es gab zwar keinen offiziellen Stapellauf bei der Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft (FSG), die mittlerweile von der Heinrich Rönner Gruppe aus Bremerhaven übernommen wurde, dafür wurde nach vierwöchigem Werftaufenthalt die ausgediente Fregatte „Karlsruhe“ (Klasse 122) wieder ausgedockt. Die neu aufgestellte FSG konnte damit gleich zwei Premieren feiern. Zum einen kam für diesen Auftrag erstmals das 180 Meter lange Schwimmdock zum Einsatz, das die FSG vor Jahren aus der Insolvenzmasse der Hamburger Werft PELLA SIETAS GmbH erworben und nach Flensburg hatte schleppen lassen. Die norddeutschen Häfen sollen auf lange Sicht klimaneutral werden. Für die Modernisierung von Schifffahrt und Infrastruktur stellt der Bund in den kommenden vier Jahren zusätzlich 400 Millionen Euro bereit. Die Investitionen, die aus dem Klima- und Transformationsfonds (KTF) kommen sollen, sind für den Aufbau von grünen Landstromanlagen und Energiebunkern sowie für klimaneutrale Schifffahrtsrouten vorgesehen, erläuterte Bundesverkehrsminister Patrick Schnieder (CDU) Anfang Juli bei einem Besuch des Duisburger Hafens in Nordrhein-Westfalen.
