From a press release by Saab Deutschland GmbH Saab Deutschland will open a new site for its Naval Systems product unit in autumn 2023 in the SPURWERK work environment in Bremen, which is currently under construction. The 1,680 m2 site will provide space for more than 100 employees. A software development hub is being created at the new site in Bremen, with which Saab Germany is positioning itself for the future in line with its growth strategy. The Wilhelmshaven site with its project office will remain and will also be further expanded. Saab Deutschland is currently equipping the four Brandenburg-class frigates (F123) with the modern "9LV" command and weapon employment system (FüWES), among other things, which will be operated from Bremen in the future.

The Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) has commissioned Furgo, the leading geodata specialist from the Netherlands, with the geophysical surveying of two sites for future wind farms within the German Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) in the North Sea. Together with the Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy Systems (IWES), Fugro will collect the necessary data and develop geological models of the offshore sites.
