Frigate "Hamburg" deployed to NATO

Tomorrow, Saturday 12 July 2025, the frigate "Hamburg" will leave Wilhelmshaven to take part in the Standing NATO Maritime Group 1 (SNMG 1). After training cruises in the first half of the year, the crew under the command of frigate captain Alexander Timpf will now head to the North Sea, the Baltic Sea and the Atlantic. "Gorch Fock" - an anchor as a symbol of solidarity

Finland issues ban on discharge of ship sewage

On 1 July 2025, a further ban on the discharge of wastewater from ships into Finnish territorial waters in the Baltic Sea came into force. This makes Finland the first country in the world to introduce a law, which was passed by the Finnish Parliament in December 2024, that generally prohibits cargo ships from discharging wastewater. The ban will be implemented gradually for ships with a gross tonnage of more than 400 or smaller ships with more than 15 people. Initially, it affects the discharge of wastewater from scrubbers, i.e. open exhaust gas cleaning systems that are predominantly used in shipping and have been in use for some time.

Naval aviators provide administrative assistance off the British coast

März vor der britischen Küste leisteten die Marineflieger des Marinefliegergeschwaders 3 „Graf Zeppelin“ mit einer Dornier DO 228 LM wertvolle Amtshilfe.
