Europas größte Volkswirtschaft und einst Russlands größter Erdgasimporteur, Deutschland, hat bisher kein russisches LNG direkt importiert. Seit über zwei Jahren fließt auch kein russisches Pipelinegas mehr. Die Gründe sind bekannt. Als Ersatz für das russische Gas wurden mit staatlichen Hilfen mehrere LNG-Terminals in Brunsbüttel, Wilhelmshaven, Stade und Mukran/Rügen errichtet. Seitdem wird LNG aus den Vereinigten Staaten, Katar und anderen Ländern in den betriebsbereiten Regasifizierungsanlagen verwendet sowie über Pipelinegas aus Norwegen eingespeist. The Royal Navy aircraft carrier "HMS Queen Elizabeth" left the port of Hamburg again on Saturday, 23 November 2024, without any significant incidents - except for one minor blemish. As confirmed by the Territorial Command of the German Armed Forces in Berlin, a drone with a diameter of over 2 metres was spotted above the aircraft carrier moored at the Steinwerder cruise terminal on Friday. 13 Jahre Planung und anschließend keine zwei Jahre Baggerarbeiten später wurde das Projekt Seekanal-Vertiefung offiziell abgeschlossen und an die Schifffahrt übergeben. Der Seekanal wurde vertieft, damit auch größere Schiffe Rostock anlaufen können.
