Zum Jahresbericht 2020 der Wehrbeauftragten Dieter Stockfisch Die Wehrbeauftragte des Bundestages, Eva Högl, beschreibt im Jahresbericht 2020 die seit Jahren bekannten und weiterhin aktuellen Probleme der Truppe: Material- und Personalmangel, Bürokratisierung, unzureichende Einsatzbereitschaft und erstmals Belastungen durch die Corona-Pandemie. Trotz eines rasant gestiegenen Verteidigungsetats von derzeit etwa 50 Milliarden Euro, der sich aus geplanten 47 Milliarden Euro sowie 3,2 Milliarden aus dem Konjunkturprogramm zusammensetzt, zeigen sich Verbesserungen „nur langsam“ und seien meist „kaum erkennbar“.
