The Kiel-based shipyard German Naval Yards, together with Rheinmetall Project Solutions GmbH (Düsseldorf) and another partner from the offshore sector, is bidding for the construction of a platform for the disposal of munitions from the Baltic Sea. The jointly developed platform could be deployed as a pilot plant in the Kolberger Heide munitions dumping area at the entrance to the Kiel Fjord before mid-2024 and dispose of conventional munitions such as torpedo heads, mines and artillery shells in an environmentally friendly manner. In Danzig wurde am 16. August 2023 der Stahl für die erste von drei vorgesehenen Fregatten der „Miecznik“-Klasse für die polnische Marine geschnitten. Die Schiffe werden von einem Konsortium mit der Remontowa Shipbuilding SA nach dem „Arrowhead 140“-Design von Babcock International gebaut. Babcock, Thales UK und MBDA UK sind die strategischen Projektpartner. Ursprünglich war [ds_preview] erst der September 2023 als Termin für den ersten Stahlschnitt vorgesehen.
