Vice Admiral Jan Christian Kaack receives France's highest honour, the "Officier de la Légion d'Honneur" Yesterday evening on the sail training ship "Gortch Fock": the Chief of Staff of the French Navy, Admiral Nicolas Vaujour, awarded his German comrade the impressive decoration. The decision as to who is awarded the Legion of Honour is made by the current French President. Manuel Macron is the current Grand Master (Grand Maître) of the Legion of Honour. In einer sich ständig wandelnden Bedrohungslandschaft ist die Weiterentwicklung von Verteidigungstechnologien unabdingbar. Dies gilt auch für neuartige Hochenergie-Laserwaffen, da diese ein großes Potenzial für zukünftige Anwendungen bieten. Bisher wurden leistungsstarke Laser in Deutschland nur unter laborähnlichen Bedingungen getestet.
